Slovak Diplomatic and Service Passport Holders to Soon Travel Visa-Free to Kyrgyzstan

Sunday, Aug 17, 2025

Diplomatic and service passport holders from Slovakia will be able to travel without a visa to Kyrgyzstan, as the visa-free agreement moves one step closer to its approval.

The ratification of the agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of the Slovak Republic will be considered by the MPs after the parliamentary recess, according to Kyrgyz media outlets.

The Cabinet of Ministers stressed that this agreement will improve business mobility and simplify travel for diplomatic and official passport holders, and enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.

This latest update regarding the visa exemption agreement comes after the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Juraj Blanár’s, official trip to the Kyrgyz Republic’s capital, Bishkek, in April 2025.

During this trip, Minister Blanár was accompanied by the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, Marián Kéry, the Chairwoman of the Office for Slovaks Living Abroad, Dagmar Repčeková, and a business delegation representing 30 companies.

“Slovakia wants to cooperate with partners from all over the world who show an interest in it. Central Asia is intensively gaining global importance; therefore, it is important for us to be active here,” Minister Blanár said.

During the high-level talks held with the Kyrgyz head of diplomacy, he signed an agreement on the mutual abolition of visa requirements for diplomatic and service passport holders.

According to the agreement, holders of valid diplomatic passports may enter, exit, transit through, and stay in the territory of the other country for a maximum of 90 days within a 180-day period without a visa.

Additionally, family members of nationals deployed to diplomatic missions or consular posts and to missions of international organizations may enter, exit, transit through, and reside in the other country without a visa for the full duration of the posting. This includes spouses, minor children, and other dependents of the individual.
